OUR RESPONSIBILITY
EXPERIENCE ETHICAL FASHION
with Responsibly Sourced Fabrics and Sustainable Production Methods

SUSTAINABILITY
It is our responsibility as a fashion brand to design, manufacture and deliver in the most ethical way possible. There are no shortcuts to achieving lasting quality; we carefully select our materials and work with skilled artisans who share our commitment to ethical practices so that when you shop with us, you can be confident that you are not only investing in high-quality, luxurious pieces, but also contributing to a more sustainable future.
We continue to strive to further reduce our carbon footprint and ensure its impact is considered throughout the process; from fabric sourcing and production to packaging - we are dedicated to fashioning exquisite silk clothing that allows you to indulge in opulent yet sustainable fabrics through all of life’s adventures.
In-house, we exclusively use 100% green energy providers and partner with logistics services that prioritise sustainable practices, ensuring every step of our process aligns with our commitment to the planet.
FABRICS
Silk is a sustainable natural fibre—renewable, biodegradable, and requiring less water, chemicals, and energy than many fabrics.
We source our silk from China, the birthplace of silk-making, where centuries of expertise ensure the finest quality. In some limited-edition collections, we also repurpose end-of-line silk from luxury brands, preventing waste and giving these exquisite materials a second life.
Our fabrics include 100% natural silk and a silk blend with 5% elastane for comfort, certified for minimal environmental impact. Our supply chain meets strict ethical and sustainability standards.
To reduce waste, we prioritise digital printing and use only certified non-toxic, Azo- and phthalate-free dyes. We've partnered with fabric suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and hold SGS certification for their eco-conscious practices.
MANUFACTURE
Maimie London celebrates 'slow fashion' with our timeless capsule collection that's made to last. Continuing our commitment to sustainability, we work with independent seamstresses & small production studios where the happiness and wellbeing of workers is paramount. Championing British manufacture, we produce in the UK, mostly in London, in very small quantities with silk specialists dedicated to hand making our beautiful collections. This approach not only supports local artisans but also allows us to maintain a transparent and controlled production process with minimal environmental impact.
Our garments are designed in a way to minimise the use of buttons, zips, hooks, fixings etc wherever we can. We intentionally maximise the use of our materials, by efficient pattern cutting, repurposing off-cuts and donating unused fabrics through our network of seamstresses.
Offcuts of silk and left-over materials are put to good use to make accessories to compliment the collections. This maximises the use of the materials we use and minimises waste of precious fabrics.
PACKAGING
Our packaging is 100% recyclable, reusable and responsibly sourced and manufactured in the UK with a transition to mostly paper and cardboard underway. We refresh our brand from time to time and ensure all materials and packaging are not wasted as we transition to the newer branded packaging.
We believe that fashion should be a celebration of self-expression and a reflection of our values. We invite you to join us on this journey towards a more consciously and sustainably stylish world with clothing that's made to last and anti-trend.
Together, we can make a difference.
